Last year I won a competition from STV / EasyJet.

Yesterday we returned home having spent a weekend in Paris with my parents (the prize was four flights from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Charles de Gaulle). We stayed at the rather lovely Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel (which, as the name suggests, is near the Tower). As all present had visited the city before we took the opportunity to relax and enjoy the shopping and cafe culture instead of rushing about trying to see the "sights". I managed to achieve my goals of snaffling confit de canard and tarte tatin (managed this twice), taking lots of baths and feeling all glamorous while strolling about Galeries Lafayette like I could afford to buy anything I liked (in reality I was looking to see what the high-end designers are doing for ideas when I next go to Primark, New Look and Asda).

All in all a rather lovely and relaxing weekend.
